On July 24, Friday, Tallest ever wave lashed Mumbai in the past 100 years. Waves were furious with the height of 5.5 meters.
No causalities reported. Advanced warnings were issued to evacuate the residents from coastal areas. And the residents returned home evening once it was safe. Coastal areas of Mumbai as well as Thane, Bhayander, Uttan, and Dahanu experienced Wild high tides.
Thousands of people took time to view the ferocious waves from the safest places under the eyes of authorities. People from high building crowded the balcony to see the huge and mammoth waves hitting the shore. This is caused by the gravitational pull of the moon after the new moon and longest solar eclipse on Wednesday.
